Course Overview:

CENTUM VP is the latest generation of the CENTUM series and succeeds the CENTUM CS 1000/ CS 3000. While securing clear backward compatibility and consistency with previous CENTUM systems. CENTUM VP is fully backward compatible with the CENTUM CS 1000/CS 3000 systems and secures a smooth and flexible migration path to all previous CENTUM series DCSs.

This course is designed to provide participants with an overall understanding of Centum VP hardware, maintenance procedures, software installation, backup procedures and maintenance tools.

Training Facility:

We utilize live control system, with a complete set of redundant hardware and the latest version of related software packages of common FCS / ESD systems, experienced Instructors, simulators, and special tools.

• AFV30D with IO integrated SCS50D via Vnet/IP network
• OS: Windows 10,
• Installed CENTUM VP R.6 along with Prosafe-RS R.4
• Software and Hardware Simulation Test Facilities

Participants:  Engineers and technicians who need to perform maintenance on Centum VP system.

Pre-requisites: Participants should have attended Centum VP Operation and Engineering.

Contents Topics:

Lesson 1: Centum VP System Setup

• Configure DIP Switch of Vnet/IP Card
• Configure HISs Computer Name and IP Address
• Configure DIP Switch of Processor Module
• Set up the FCU, Node Interface Unit and N-IO I/O Unit
• Connect the HIS and FCS in the Vnet/IP Network

Lesson 3: Downloading

• Understand the different types of downloading
• Download the VP Project to FCS and HIS by using System View

Lesson 4: Maintenance Related HIS Buttons

• Identify the commonly used buttons for maintenance purposes
• Use the Dependency Analyzer
• Troubleshoot using Network Status Display and Station Status Display
• Troubleshoot using Command Prompt

Lesson 5: Replacement of Common Modules

• Understand the functions of the major components of the FCS
• Perform daily inspection procedure
• Replace common modules such as Power Supply, Processor, N-ESB Bus Coupler & I/O modules.
• Set node number to the N-ESB Bus
• Perform FCS Crash Dump
• Generate IOM report
• Perform IOM download

Lesson 6: System Backup

• Determine the items to be considered for System Backup
• Perform Tuning Parameter Save
• Perform different methods of executing Project Data backup and restore.
• Perform backup and restore of ADMDB (Automation Design Master Database)

Lesson 7: Software Re-installation

• Perform necessary setup before installation of Centum VP software
• Install the Centum VP Software
• Configure IT Security Settings
• Distribute and Accept Licenses
